The Order: 1886 is selling big in two territories

Despite not being a hit with critics – including me – The Order: 1886 is doing very well at the tills.

So well, in fact, that it’s ousted Evolve from the top spot in both the UK and Australia according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

Evolve actually fell two places in both territories, as The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D for the the 3DS overtook it as well to occupy second place.

So even though its best feature is eye-popping graphics and it lasts for just six hours with limited replayability, Ready At Dawn’s creation is clearly scratching an itch with the paying public, which is ultimately more important than whether critics love it or not.

Interestingly, Metacritic has the critic and user scores separated by just 0.3 points effectively as of 12pm on the 2nd of March, 2015, making its sales achievements in two rather large territories a pretty impressive feat.

I’ve asked the game’s South African distributors how The Order is doing here for comparison’s sake, and will update the story should they have anything to share in that regard.

My question to htxt readers is what you think of the game if you’ve plunked down your hard-earned cash for it. As always, let me know here or in the comments.
