Cadence‘s Kickstarter isn’t going as well as I had hoped it would; as of today, with 16 days to go it’s barely raised 20% of its total goal.

But that could all be about to change: a few hours ago it was picked up as a Staff Pick, which has the potential to push it well beyond the modest £25 000 being asked for.

Staff Picks are projects the Kickstarter staff believe in, and they usually appear on Kickstarter’s Staff Picks Page, they get tweeted about from the Kickstarter account and generally pick up quite a bit of momentum as a result.

Made With Monster Love, the game’s developers, posted a new update today announcing the news, along with making it known that Cadence will be available on the Humble Store in addition to Steam once it’s done, giving gamers even more choice (and the game more exposure).

Cadence certainly deserves the support, so if you haven’t already consider heading over to the Kickstarter page and pledging some cash. The £7 (R127) Early Bird specials are taken, and the minimum donation is now £10 (R182) if you want to play the game as well as back it.

Deon got his first taste of PC gaming at the tender age of 11 when his father bought an 8088 XT, ostensibly to "help him with his homework". Instead, it introduced him to Leisure Suit Larry, King Graham, Sonny Bonds and many more, and Deon has been a PC gamer and hardware enthusiast ever since. He landed his first professional writing gig in 2006 at a prestigious local PC magazine, a very happy happenstance as he got to write for a living about things he loves - tech, PCs, gaming, and everything in between. He's been writing about it all ever since, and loves every minute of it.
