Predator confirmed for Mortal Kombat X

The Xbox Store has let it slip that the Predator will join the line-up of downloadable characters for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X.

That’s according to VG247, who spotted it on the Xbox Store Page. Interestingly, at the time of this writing, the page is still up, and it still says the Predator is a playable character.

The Predator will apparently be available as part of the Kombat pack, a DLC pack that comes with the game’s Premium Edition. The dreadlocked hunter appears alongside three other characters, including everyone’s favourite 1980s psychopath Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th movies.

The identity of the remaining two characters in the pack aren’t yet known for sure, but in the press release that hit my inbox this morning, local distributor Ster Kinekor confirmed that the remaining two characters are “Klassic Mortal Kombat Kombatants”.

VG247’s previous coverage of the title suggested they could be Stryker, Smoke, Rain, Kabal or Cyrax, as none of those are confirmed for the official line-up yet their names appeared in a Mortal Kombat X livestream as part of a list of modifiers for the game.

Now all the game needs is an Alien, and I can finally have the definitive Aliens vs. Predator match I’ve always wanted.

Mortal Kombat X is out on the 14th of April; here’s a kick-ass trailer introducing the Cage family to tide you over until then. It’s rated 17 for violence, though, so you may want to watch it somewhere that isn’t work.
