[WATCH] The first fixed-wing military aircraft developed in Africa

Wednesday nights make us really excited at htxt.africa, as that is when the newest episode of EDGE: Science and Technology is broadcast on [ED], DSTV channel 190, at 7pm.

The reason we watch is obviously because it’s really good, and the fact that we consult and appear on it is merely a happy coincidence, obviously…

On tonight’s episode, host Danine Naidoo pays a visit to the Paramount Group, which is responsible for building the Advanced High-Performance Reconnaissance Light Aircraft (AHRLAC).

The AHRLAC is the first military, manned fixed-wing aircraft to be fully designed, tested and developed in Africa. It was designed and built by a team of 60 engineers and technicians, and 98% of all 6 000 parts of the airframe were designed and produced in SA.

Check out a clip from tonight’s show below, and keep an eye out for our own Deon du Plessis, as he explains just how to get the most out of If This Then That (IFTTT).
