Hearthstone now playable on phones, too

Fear for your productivity and free time, fans of Hearthstone, for your addiction is now playable on your phone as well as your PC, Mac and tablet.

Blizzard announced via Battle.net that the game is now playable on iOS and Android phones, and that players will be rewarded with a free Classic Card Pack for making the jump to mobile.

If you own an older model Android phone, you can check its compatibility here, using Blizzard’s own compatibility check tool. Should your specific handset not qualify, I’ll put money on the fact that you’ll seriously consider an upgrade just for the privilege of slinging cards at opponents wherever you happen to be.

The game’s UI has apparently been hand-crafted by Blizzard for the smaller screen, so don’t think you’ll be hunting-and-pecking through the interface you know from the PC version, but do expect the familiarity of the game’s gorgeous artwork and addictive mechanics.

And lastly, you will need to be connected to the internet in order to play, and of course your progress will carry over between platforms because it’s tied to your Battle.net ID rather than the phone/PC/Mac/tablet you play on.

Hearthstone can be downloaded for iOS here, and for Android here.
