Those of you keen on playing the Battlefield-meets-Star-Wars game, Star Wars: Battlefront, will get to do so on the 17th of November, 2015.

That’s according to Eurogamer, which reported that the game’s official release date was discovered lurking in the source code of the game’s official website; AllGamesBeta and Videogamer apparently grabbed screenshots of the info before it was taken down.

The exact wording was “The latest news and updates for Star Wars Battlefront. Available November 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC”, but of course it has since been removed.

This is great news, and adds tremendously to the sense that today really is Star Wars: Battlefront day, as not only do we now know when we’re going to be playing, but also because of the official unveil happening tonight at 7:30pm South African time at the Star Wars Celebration taking place in Anaheim, California.

Sound good? Tune in via live stream at 7:30pm tonight and prepare for an entire weekend of incredibly nerdy Star Warsiness.

For the first official screenshot of Battlefront, check out the Eurogamer article. And yes, that’s in-game graphics, apparently, so expect Battlefront to be quite the looker.

Deon got his first taste of PC gaming at the tender age of 11 when his father bought an 8088 XT, ostensibly to "help him with his homework". Instead, it introduced him to Leisure Suit Larry, King Graham, Sonny Bonds and many more, and Deon has been a PC gamer and hardware enthusiast ever since. He landed his first professional writing gig in 2006 at a prestigious local PC magazine, a very happy happenstance as he got to write for a living about things he loves - tech, PCs, gaming, and everything in between. He's been writing about it all ever since, and loves every minute of it.
