MKX patch 1.03 fixes bugs, paves the way for Jason

Those of you playing Mortal Kombat X may have had a few bumps along the way to enjoying the game, but you’ll be glad to know that NetherRealm Studios has been hard at work on a patch that addresses the most egregious problems.

The game has been patched to version 1.03, which fixes Sony Entertainment Network sign-in issues for PlayStation 4 players, leaderboard problems (ranked games occasionally don’t record wins and losses accurately for some players) and the Krypt Switch Gate Glitch.

Other fixes include one for the Easy Fatalities purchase and a few unspecified test fixes.

The patch weighs in at 3.1GB, so if you haven’t patched since you got the game you’re in for a bit of a wait. If you are currently running version 1.02, updating to 1.0.3 will take about 100MB.

According to some Reddit MKXers, the patch also adds the silhouette of Jason Voorhees to the character selection screen.

Some Redditors report not having seen it despite installing the patch, but the rumour’s not implausible since Voorhees is slated to be added to the game’s roster on the 26th of April via a DLC pack. It also makes sense that the devs would code it to appear on some consoles, but not all, to drum up a bit of hype.

Our own MKX review is in progress, and so far we’re loving the gorgeous graphics and the genuinely nausea-inducing fatalities.
