Sony bringing out a 1TB PS4 soon

Tired of having to uninstall games on your PlayStation 4 to make way for new ones because its 500GB hard drive is just too small?

Apparently you’re not alone, because news has leaked of Sony’s plans to bring out new PlayStation 4s, including one that comes with a 1TB hard drive.

Engadget sniffed out an FCC filing that outs two new PlayStation 4 designs that use less power and weigh less than the original console, presumably thanks to more efficient design as opposed to lacking anything the original had. What sets them apart from one another is their hard drive capacities – 500GB and 1TB respectively.

Sony has refined the design of previous PlayStations, so the move comes as no surprise. It’s of little consequence to current owners of the original PS4, but since they’ve had the option to swap out the PS4’s 500GB drive with something bigger and faster all along, that’s not a problem.

The news comes ahead of Sony’s planned E3 press conference, which takes place on June 15th in Los Angeles,  where the company will likely make the new designs official, and let us know when to expect the tweaked consoles on store shelves, as well as how much they’ll cost.

How have you guys been coping with the 500GB capacities of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4? Me, I’ve just hit 89% capacity on my Xbox One.
