Fallout 4 Countdown Clock Appears

When Bethesda announced its first E3 keynote for this year’s expo, players and pundits alike knew the developer would have something special to announce. After all, why have a keynote at E3 – and pay all the costs that it incurs – unless you have something impressive to show off?

While we all knew that DOOM would be making an appearance at E3 – the teaser was dropped in the middle of last month – and it was more than likely The Elder Scrolls: Online would probably get a look-in (perhaps a new expansion pack would be announced). It was mooted that BattleCry, Bethesda’s free-to-play steampunk shooter might show up, but since its debut at last year’s E3 went down like a lead balloon, no one really cared.

Let’s face it, the game everyone wanted to see at Bethesda’s E3 2015 keynote – so much so, we only spoke about it in hushed tones lest we jinx it – was the as-yet-unannounced-but-we-hope-and-pray-it’s-being-made RPG Fallout 4.

Well, now it looks like our prayers may be answered. Last night Bethesda posted a countdown clock on its Fallout site, which, at the time of this writing is sitting at around six and a half hours until it expires. That means the clock will expire at 4pm local time today, so synchronise your watches, people, it looks like we’re going to get some Vault Boy news today – and we’re willing to bet it’s about Fallout 4.

Of course, we could be wrong and this could be a cruel trick on the part of Bethesda to mess with our heads, but we’re willing to be optimistic. In the meantime, we’d like to know what you’d like to see from Fallout 4 should it be announced this afternoon. We’ll be posting our wishlist later today.
