Microsoft to launch R260 phone for emerging markets

Microsoft has revealed a new feature phone for emerging markets, and it will only cost around R260 ($20).

The Nokia 105 and Nokia 105 Dual SIM build on the previous versions of the 105, but naturally have a bit more features this time around.

Each phone can store up to can store up to 2 000 contacts and the battery has been given a healthy boost as well. With a BL-5CB 800mAh battery, it will provide 15 hours talk time and 35 days in standby time.

“Up to 35 days standby time – yes, that’s more than a month on a single battery charge – means you don’t need to worry about constantly charging your phone,” Microsoft explained.

The Dual SIM version will support two different SIM cards, so if you have one for voice calling and a separate one for data, you could save a lot of money.

“While those elements alone make for a great upgrade, the new Nokia 105’s updated rounded look makes it visually appealing while remaining as durable as ever. It will be available in cyan, black and white,” it said.
