Old GTA cities modded for use in GTA V

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V has become one of the most popular games ever by sheer volume, and with popular games you will always have modders injecting their own bit of flair into the game’s code.

Taking GTA modding to a completely different level, a gamer going by the handle NTAuthority has figured out a way to bring cities and landscapes from previous GTA games into GTA V

By using a client called ‘FiveM’, he has come up with a way to add custom maps and scenery into the PC version – with most people opting to make use of GTA Liberty City’s maps.

To prove to gamers that it actually works, he rustled up a map mod by using the GTA assets from 1960’s London.

“Hellloooooooo, world! Here’s another fine NTAuthority release for GTA, this time a lovely map modification for V. … which happens to be the result of the past week-or-two of work on a quick-and-dirty world creation method,” he wrote in a blog post.

If you want to give the tool that allows you to do it a spin, check out NTAuthority’s fairly detailed how-to on GTA: Liberty City, or his tutorial on inserting parts of London. Cor, blimey (etc, etc).
