In a desperate bid to cheer up the cold winter months (and host an outdoor event at a time when it’s not likely to rain), Geekfest is happening a bit earlier than usual this year. In fact, it’s just three weeks until the day-long festival of fandom, the nonpariel of nerdishness, the capital of cosplay takes place at Huddle Park in Linksfield (note the new venue too).

If you fancy a day where comic books reign supreme and there’s competitive boardgaming and Mortal Kombat X on site this is for you. There’s live Robot Wars competitions and options to Fight a Knight (you don’t have to bring your own sword) or take part in the annual Zombie Run race. Or you could just enjoy the sunshine and craft beer served on tap – it’s up to you.

What you shouldn’t do, however, is hang around to get your tickets. Unless, that is, you fancy taking part in our quick compo here. We’ve been given two sets of two tickets to give away (normal entry is R80 – under 12s are free – for the event, plus extra to take part in the various competitions).

All we want to know from you is what’s the geekiest thing you’ve done this week. Answers in the comment box below or over at our Facebook page here. Usual T&Cs apply, closing date is a week from now (18th June).
