This picture was made out of Minecraft blocks

If you think Minecraft is just about building stuff with blocks and avoiding creatures at night, you may need to dig yourself out of the cave around you and come into the light. In the right hands, Minecraft is nothing short of a creator’s toolkit where the possibilities are almost literally unlimited.

A user on Twitch with the alias Thorlar has spent twenty-three and a half weeks laying down  1 128 960 individual blocks, by hand, to create a work of art depicting Deathwing, Kerrigan and Diablo, three of the most recognisable characters from Blizzard games.

In the process, Thorlar claims he has set a world record for pixel art.

If you think we’re pulling your leg, you can watch the video below where Thorlar places down the last blocks of the piece and zooms out to reveal the finished product.

If you want to get even closer to this, you can check out the interactive map of the project that will allow you to zoom all the way into every pixel/block. Enjoy.
