You’ll pay more for this year’s rAge

This year’s Really Awesome Gaming Expo (more commonly known as rAge) will take place at the Northgate Dome from the 9th to the 11th of October, says the official press release.

Doors open on Friday the 9th at 10am, and as with everything else in South Africa, the cost to attend is higher now than in previous years.

Just getting into The Dome for a single day will cost you R100, up from last year’s R70. A weekend ticket that lets you come and go as you please for all three days of the show goes for R250, whereas last year you’d have paid just R150.

Tickets to attend the LAN have gone up by the least, percentage-wise: it’ll cost you R550 in 2015, when 2014’s price was R450.

The shuttle service that takes gamers from the Sandton Gautrain station to the event will also run this year, and cost R80 versus last year’s R70. It’s definitely worth the cost, as it means you won’t have to fight Dome traffic or spend ages hunting for parking.

The only other bit of good news is that kids under six can still get in for nothing. Hooray!

Tickets for the LAN and the event itself are available through Ticketpro CompuTicket (corrected – ed), and if all you want to do is walk around the show floor on the day, tickets can be bought at the door.

What do you think about the price increases? Do they seem fair, or do these new prices make you want to rAge quit in protest?
