David Fincher, Trent Reznor and Chuck Palahniuk are making a rock opera based on Fight Club.

Remember Fight Club? Man that was a good movie. It spawned so many one-liners that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s muscle’s were frowning. It tied up the 90’s in a nice little bow with a cool twist and really complete story. Oh, Chuck Palahniuk, author of the book the movie is based on is writing Fight Club 2? Now the “series” is being turned into a rock opera? Yaaaaay.

At Comic Con, Palahniuk said that director David Fincher would be working on the rock opera with Trent Reznor.

We don’t know a lot about rock operas, but we do know that Fincher was the director of the official Fight Club and Reznor did the soundtracks for Flincher’s previous three films.

So an author is making an opera with rock music that tells a story, with a Hollywood director and the frontman of Nine Inch Nails?

We don’t really know what to make of this. We won’t be seeing a live version unless it becomes a massive hit and tours the world, and we we’re not the type to buy Blu-rays of recorded operas, but we’ll probably give this one a look for sheer curiosity alone.
