Full keyboard and mouse support may come to Xbox One

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has said via Twitter that PC-to-Xbox streaming – that is, playing PC games on the Xbox One by streaming them over your home network – is not yet a confirmed feature of Windows 10, but that he likes it, and in order for it to happen full mouse and keyboard support for the Xbox One “would need to be there”.

More importantly, he added that “…those aren’t far away”, implying that Microsoft is already working on them.

That means you could some day hook a USB keyboard and mouse up to your Xbox One and control it like you do a PC. The Xbox One already lets you connect a USB keyboard to the system as of a January update, so it’s not exactly a stretch to bring in mouse support as well.

If it happens, it’ll only roll out after Windows 10 launches. In the meanwhile, you’ll at least have the opportunity to stream Xbox One games to a Windows 10-equipped PC thanks to the new OS’s Xbox app, so there’s that.

And you’ll be able to test it out in a week, when Windows 10 launches worldwide on the 29th of July.
