HSRC wants to attract more females to science and research in SA

According to the Association of South African Women in Science and Engineering, women only make up around 40 per cent of South Africa’s scientists, engineers and technologists.

To help address this shortage, the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) together with Women in Physics in South Africa, (WiPiSA) which has been working to support women and girls in the field, will be hosting a seminar to encourage females to study and pursue careers in science and to highlight solutions to challenges to help them achieve this.

The HSRC seminar is free to attend will be held in Pretoria and will be lived streamed to the HSRC offices in Cape Town and Durban on 6th August to coincide with Women’s Month. The sessions will be interactive and attendees will have the chance to share opinions and ask questions.
