rAge is coming to Cape Town

If you’re a gamer based in the Mother City and you’ve never had the opportunity to attend South Africa’s biggest videogames expo, we have some rather good news for you. For the first time, rAge is making its way to Cape Town.

The gaming expo, rAge Cape Town (to give it its official title) will take place from between the 18th and 20th of March next year at the GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World in Goodwood. The organiser have promised that rAge attendeess will have “awesome variety of things to see and do for visitors to the expo”, which we’re taking to mean hands-on with titles ahead of release, cosplay and loads of swag to buy.

“The closure of NAG magazine has allowed us the time and resources needed to expand the rAge footprint into Cape Town,”  rAge’s Senior Project Manager Michael James said. “We’re taking some of the key elements of rAge JHB and bringing them to rAge Cape Town with a vision of growing Cape Town into something unique and exciting.”

“The plan is to bring some ideas to rAge Cape Town that we’ve not been able to realise at rAge JHB due to space constraints and other logistical issues,” he said.

Jo’burg players shouldn’t worry, though. According to The Lime Enveloper – the group that handles the PR for rAge – the expo won’t disappear from Johannesburg. Further more, James said that another NAG LAN event is being aded to Jo’burg’s calendar to meet the demand that rAge can’t keep up with.

“This will also allow us the opportunity to add exciting eSports events to this new NAG LAN event in Jo’burg, as there won’t be a super-busy expo running alongside it,” he said.
