[WATCH] Steve Jobs: The Man In The Machine trailer

If you’re one of the many people who can’t wait to see the Steve Jobs biopic directed by Danny Boyle and starring Michael Fassbender, the trailer for a new documentary on Apple’s late CEO may scratch your itch and then some.

Steve Jobs: The Man In The Machine is a new movie directed and written by documentary maker Alex Gibney and it’s caused quite a stir with audiences ahead of its official release. Apple VP Eddy Cue, who saw the film at SXSW, has called it ‘mean-spirited’, ‘inaccurate’ and ‘not a reflection of the Steve I knew’.

Variety, which reviewed the film at the same festival Cue attended, calls it ‘searching’ and ‘scorching’ while The Guardian’s review praises the film as ‘riveting’ but says that Jobs comes across as a man ‘utterly lacking in empathy’.

We haven’t seen the film as yet, but the trailer below has definitely whetted our collective appetite.

Gibney’s credentials don’t hurt, either. In case you haven’t heard of him, his past documentaries include Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room, We Steal Secrets – which details the rise and fall of Julian Assange and WikiLeaks – and Going Clear, an eye-opening film about the Church Of Scientology that you can watch right now on YouTube.

Steve Jobs: The Man In The Machine is set for release ahead of Danny Boyle’s Jobs – it’s going on limited release on September 4th in the USA. There’s no word on whether it’ll be released here but the internet is vast and infinite and VPN’s are widely available. Just saying…
