[HOW TO] Stream Xbox One games to a Windows 10 PC

Windows 10 is rolling out across the world today, but one of the biggest features that gamers can look forward to is the ability to stream Xbox One games to a Windows 10 PC.

This allows gamers to play all of their Xbox One games from their upgraded computer, as long as the Xbox One and PC are on the same network.

1. Download

First, you’ll have to download the Xbox app from the Windows store if it isn’t already installed on your Windows 10 PC.

2. Sign in

Once you have the Xbox app installed on your Windows 10 machine, sign into your Xbox account. This will help Microsoft identify who you are and which games you will be able to play.

3. Connect

Once you have signed in, the app presents you with a host of options down the left of the screen. These options include viewing your Gamerscore, the number of controllers that are connected to the PC, and keep up to date with friends and their activities.

Of all the icons on the left, the one that you are looking for will be the second to last one. It looks like a little Xbox console with a WiFi signal. That’s the icon that will allow you to connect you Xbox One console to you PC. Once you click on it, it will attempt to make a connection – much like the previous Xbox app for smartphones.

4. Play

After connecting the Xbox One to your Windows 10 PC, the Xbox app will open up a lot more options, allow you to take direct control of your Xbox. Look for an icon that represent a game controller with the wording ‘My Games’. When you select that, it should show you a list of games that you can play. Select a game, and click on ‘Play from console’.

You actually don’t have to go through all of that. Once you click on any game that you own from anywhere, you should be given option to play it from the console.

5. That is it!

And that’s all you have to do in order to stream Xbox One games to a Windows 10 PC. But you have to remember that your streaming quality will depend on your network speed. If you have a slow network connection, you might experience some lag. After all, the PC needs to beam the action and controller input to the Xbox and back.
