[MAP MONDAY] Uber’s troubles in SA so far this year mapped

It’s no secret that Uber hasn’t gone down very well with a lot of cab drivers in most of the countries where the service is available.

And while some protests against the company have turned violent, the situation is yet to reach that point in South Africa. However, it’s not looking very good, either.

Cape Town drivers have been targeted on numerous occasions by law enforcement officers and other metered taxi drivers since early this year, and the intimidation recently moved to Johannesburg with reports of a gun being pulled on driver in Sandton.

No incidents have been reported in Durban as yet. The map below pinpoints where these incidents have taken place so far, up until yesterday.
