[WATCH] The Imagine Cup 2015 championship round

The very last phase of this year’s Imagine Cup has just concluded in Seattle’s Washington State Convention Center, where team eFitFashion from Brazil was crowned the overall champions of the competition.

They were up against two very strong projects – a dementia simulator designed to inspire empathy for sufferers of the disease and a fantastically original game whose visuals were inspired by artist MC Escher – but ultimately won out as their idea ticked all of the boxes the Imagine Cup judges were looking for.

Not only was the concept smart – it takes the time and expense out of giving people access to clothing customised to fit their exact measurements – but it has considerable commercial appeal and is already in the process of being monetised.

The final judging was done by three celebrity judges – Thomas Middleditch from the HBO series Silicon Valley, Jens Bergensten, the lead developer of Minecraft and Alex Kipman, better known as the inventor of the HoloLens – during a light-hearted final event in Seattle.

Microsoft filmed everything and added it to the huge library of video they’ve put out around the Imagine Cup, and you can watch the entire thing by pressing Play below.

It’s a fun watch, and offers a great summary of each team’s efforts.

Well done, all, I can’t wait to see what teams come up with for next year’s Cup!
