A few weeks ago, we put out the call for people to sign up and join our readers’ panel, and were happily pleased that so many of you filled in the form asking to join. We’ve not finished going through all the names yet, but we have appointed our first member – Cape Town’s Griffiths Sibeko.

Griffiths says that he learned computer skills in a public library at the age of 11, where staff were overly watchful of their PCs and sceptical of children using them. Until they realised Griffiths was better at computing than they were, and they made him a staff member.

Now, he designs mobile apps for a living (amongst other things) and was part of the team that won the 2014 MTN Best App Garage Developer award for a Rea Vaya-based transport app.

We’ve sent Griffiths an LG G4 to play around with a month, to see whether or not real readers agree with our review. Here’s his first message back to base. Take it away, Griffiths…
