Win a set of double tickets to the first Cape Town Maker Faire

Maker Faire is a big deal all around the world. This year the 10th annual Maker Faire was hosted in San Mateo, California and saw more than 1100 makers meeting to talk shop, connect with on another and entertain the 145 000 people in attendance.

Maker Faire isn’t confined to just one town; it’s now hosted in San Diego, Oslo, Rome and Seoul with independently organised, scaled down Mini Maker Faire gatherings cropping up around the world – and one such gathering will be happening right here in South Africa.

Maker Faire is coming to Cape Town for the first time from the 21 to 23 August. The Lookout at the V&A Waterfront will host makers from South Africa and around the world for three days of creating, collaborating and, let’s be honest, showing off.

While the event is independently organised, it has the backing of Maker Faire, MakeZine.com and Maker Media which means you’re attending a world class gathering of makers.

If money is tight but you want to see the Ultrascope kit telescope or visit the Léon Thévenin Cable Ship or just gasp in awe at some of the amazing things that makers have created you’re in luck.

Maker Faire Cape Town has given htxt.africa 5 sets of double tickets to give-away. Simply tell us where Maker Faire Cape Town will be happening and you could win yourself a set of double tickets.

See you at Maker Faire Cape Town.
