Pretoria is to play host to this year’s Software Freedom Day in Gauteng. The event will take place on September 19th this year at the Station Lounge opposite the Pretora Gautrain Station terminal.
Software Freedom Day aims to educate people on the benefits of open source and free software.
Karl Fischer the organiser of Software Freedom Day Pretoria, says that the main goals of the day are, “to engage with and encourage computer users, local businesses, startups and other groups to use free software and promote the philosophy.” Attendees will be able to ask questions and engage with speakers to learn more about what exactly free software entails.
If you’re interested in attending you can find all the information on the Software Freedom Day 2015 South Africa website. You can also add the event to your calendar by visiting the Facebook event page.
