Fifth Wired Women Conference to address workplace diversity for women in tech

Diversity in the tech workspace and women and men learning from one another will be the main agenda during the fifth annual Wired Women Conference taking place next month.

Wired Women invites women working in the tech industry and those who would like to learn how to harness its power in their field, to spend a day networking, listening to industry leaders and sharing their own stories about bridging the gender divide in tech.

“It’s time for women in tech to co-opt male champions in order to grow a more balanced representation in this space” said Debby Edelstein, CEO of QualityLife, organisers of the annual Wired Women Conference.  “We need to encourage workplace diversity that brings the benefits of male and female leadership styles to the table. There is a lot that female leaders can learn from their male counterparts, and vice versa,” she says.

Speakers at the conference include Project Isizwe and Herotel CEO, Alan Knott-Craig Jnr., managing partner of The Cobalt Partners Enyonam Kumahor, Erika van der Merwe, CEO of the Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and Jayshree Naidoo, Standard Bank Incubator head.

Wired Women will be held on the 23rd October at the Protea Parktonian Hotel in Braamfontein. Tickets are already available at R3 876 a head and can be bought on the conference’s website.
