MSI announces bisteringly fast new gaming notebooks

MSI has revealed four new notebooks, the GT72 Dominator Pro G, GS70 Stealth, GS60 Ghost and GE72/62 Apache Pro.

All are outfitted with the latest generation Intel Core i7 Skylake processors of varying speeds and sizes. The main feature that has us all a flutter is the ability to overclock the GT72 Dominator Pro G’s i7-6820HK to 4GHz.

MSI has opted to use the latest DDR4 RAM operating at 2133MHz. When compared to DDR3 that was running at 1600MHz, this memory is blisteringly fast. This means gaming, and anything else you plan to use these notebooks for, will be super be fast and lag is will be minimal at best.

MSI has equipped the new range with a back lit Steelseries keyboards. For the audiophiles among you MSI has equipped the GS and GT range with ESS SABRE HiFi Audio which claims to be able to make even the lowest fidelity audio sound heavenly.

Of course a gaming notebook needs gaming graphics and MSI has equipped its latest notebooks with GeForce GTX 980M and GeForce GTX 970M graphics depending on the model you buy. You also get the latest PCI-E Gen 3 SSD storage so your games, your OS and everything else boots up as fast as you need it to. We have also been told that S models of the new lineup will feature the SSDs setup in RAID 0 which means, yes, even more speed.

With all this emphasis on speed we’re excited to see just how much MSI has updated its gaming notebooks. However, how well it compares to the GT80 Titan which has become the MSI benchmark in gaming notebooks, remains to be seen.
