There must be some gremlins that are seriously determined to disrupt Standard Banks’s online services as the bank has just announced its website and app are down again for some customers.
Earlier this morning, customers tweeted Standard Bank notifying them of the downtime. This is the second time in just over a month that the bank’s website and app have gone down.
The bank then sent customers SMSes and posted on their social media pages to alert them about the technical issues and to say it was still working to resolve the problem by 10am today.
We’re aware of interruptions to App & Internet banking services today. We’re working to resolve urgently & apologise for the inconvenience.

UPDATE 10:00 We’re working to urgently resolve technical issues affecting online services & in-store terminals. Apologies for inconvenience. — Standard Bank SA (@StandardBankZA) September 10, 2015
This time around however, the situation doesn’t seem to be as bad as August’s widespread outage, as a check attempt to access the site from our side was successful, without any problems experienced. In the meantime, Standard Bank’s social media team is issuing apologies to all complaints that have been coming through since early this morning. We’ll keep you posted as soon as the bank issues another update.
[UPDATE: Standard Bank tweeted at 12:30 this afternoon that all issues have been resolved and everything should be running smoothly again.]
UPDATE 12:30 Technical issues affecting our online services & in-store terminals are resolved. Systems reinstated, thanks for your patience.
