Khan Academy’s educational videos are coming to Android

That’s right, all of Khan Academy’s 5 000-plus educational videos are available through the Khan Academy Android app as of right now, according to the Android Police.

The app is still in beta, so expect a few bugs and quirks, but that aside every single video the organisation has made is literally at your fingertips, ready to enrich your mind and maybe even challenge your brain.

Sure, people have had access to those videos via YouTube and iOS for quite some time now, but the app puts them all in one convenient place for easy viewing and lets you create playlists of videos you’d like to watch, plus it provides complete transcripts of each video and lets you track your progress through each series so you always know how far you are.

You can’t just jump onto the Play Store and grab the app, however, you’ll need to opt into the beta in order to become a tester, and only then will you be granted permission to download it.

Khan Academy has long been a bastion of high-quality educational online content, but this marks the first time all of its amazing videos have been made available through an official app on Google’s platform.

And just what can you learn from Khan Academy videos? Just about anything, really, from algebra to biology to art history and even “exploring Mars”. And now millions of people using Android have another way to access it all – via their Android phones and tablets.

So while ICT isn’t a magic wand that’ll automatically make students perform better, putting access to educational content like this into more hands than ever certainly can’t hurt.

What are you waiting for? Go learn something today!
