Richard Branson would like to fund your next great business plan

Do you have a dream and a business idea worth a million dollars? Well then, Sir Richard Branson would like to hear from you.

Through Branson’s Centre of Entrepreneurship and Virgin Atlantic, together with The British Council and CliffCentral, the Dreamtrepreneur initiative wants to makes the dreams come true of those who have great business ideas.

To be considered for the initiative, you have to to send a minute-long video or audio segment pitching your entrepreneurial dream to dream@cliffcentral.com.

From there, ten candidates will be shortlisted to appear before a judging panel, where they will have another opportunity to sell in their dream business plan. Sort of like a Dragon’s Den, with slightly friendlier dragons.

From there, ten candidates will complete a course through the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship South Africa, where the two best ideas (and their originators) will be chosen.

“While emerging entrepreneurs in South Africa are exceptionally innovative and creative, continued support and effort is required to upskill and grow our SMEs in South Africa. Virgin Atlantic in association with the Branson Centre has provided a marvellous gateway of opportunity for thriving entrepreneurs through the Dreamtrepreneur challenge, and we’re very excited about hosting the ten successful entrants on the Program,” said Antonia Norman, CEO of the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship via press statement.

But the two final winners’ journey won’t end with the conclusion of the Dreamtrepreneur initiative, as they will each receive a digital marketing package worth over R140 000 from Just Perfect Digital Agency, a cash prize of R40 000, a mentoring session with Sir Richard Branson himself, plus the chance to network in London with like-minded entrepreneurs at Global Entrepreneur Week.

If you want to enter you have to hurry, as the ten shortlisted candidates will be chosen at the end of the month.
