The first iPhone 6s in SA sold for R18 000

On Friday 25th September 2015 thousands queued outside iStores around the world waiting to get their hands on the new iPhone 6s. South Africans will sadly have to wait for later in the year before getting their hands on the latest Apple smartphone, well most South Africans at least.

Online marketplace bidorbuy has reported that the first iPhone 6s was sold on its website for R17 999 on 29th September just two days after the advert was posted. The buyer is from Amanzimtoti, Kwa-Zulu Natal and is now a proud owner of a 128GB Rose Gold iPhone 6s.

For those that just got paid and cannot possibly wait until November there are currently two 64GB iPhone 6s smartphones for sale on Bid or Buy for R15 799 each though you can only have the smartphone in Space Grey or Silver.

In a statement sent to media Matthew Avramit, head of category management at bidorbuy said “The fact that an iPhone 6s sold so quickly after being listed on the site testifies to the appeal of this particular brand. It also signifies that buyers know that they need to come to our marketplace when they want to be among the first to own a coveted product.”

Though pricing for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is yet to be revealed we can safely say that the people who buy these smartphones value getting the latest tech first, no matter the cost.
