You will get the new Xbox One dashboard on 12 November

The new Xbox dashboard, the same one that completely ruined our weekend when it was released to Preview Program members a couple of weeks ago, will be rolled out to all Xbox Live users on 12th November.

The new UI update also brings backwards compatibility, so if you have the Xbox 360 titles in your library that are currently supported, you’ll be able to play those as well.

The hope is that the general release will have less bugs and issues than it did for Preview members, and it is highly likely that it will be plain sailing.

Although we had almost every bug imaginable, Microsoft updated the Preview dashboard with a number of patches that fixed most of the problems.

With that said, the new UI is really clean, faster to navigate and it is generally more intuitively designed. There are a number of features that made us wonder how we lived without them, and we’ll be posting all tips and tricks once the new dashboard becomes available to the general public.

The announcement of the 12 November launch date was made last night during a Halo 5: Guardians launch event, with Xbox’s Phil Spencer confirming the date.

On a slightly related note, the new dashboard launches about two weeks after Xbox’s new Elite controller, which we have had some hands-on time with.
