AMPION Venture Bus for startups driving through Joburg next week

Next week, the AMPION Venture Bus Africa enters the last stage of its Southern African tour as the startups initiative makes its way to South Africa after it wraps up in Namibia.

AMPION Venture Bus is a competition which selects a number of young African entrepreneurs across the continent to form groups and spend one week working on new startups that will develop solutions to a number of social issues on the continent.

Entrepreneurs will jump on board and visit different business incubators to work on their startups and get access to expert mentorship and training during the process.

The Johannesburg event, taking place on 16th November, will see the AMPION Venture Bus Southern Africa participants pitching the progress they’ve made so far on their various startups at JoziHub, located at 44 Stanley Avenue in Milpark.

AMPION Venture Bus will then end off at the AfricaCom exhibition and conference in Cape Town where one startup will be crowned the competition’s 2015 grand prize winner. The winner and runners-up will also join the six-month AMPION Fellowship Programme.

Finalists have not yet been revealed, but will be soon, before the grand finale.

By the end of the year, AMPION Venture Bus says it will have gone through 16 countries with a total of 200 aspiring entrepreneurs and expects that 40 startups will have emerged from the competition.

You can RSVP to attend the free Joburg event on Eventbrite.
