PlayStation knocks R500 off a new console

For anyone worried about how our tanking currency may impact on their ability to buy Christmas presents, PlayStation has stepped in to spread a little bit of Festive cheer.

Consoles are pretty expensive, and while everything is due to go up in price over the rand taking a nosedive to the US dollar, Sony South Africa has announced that it will be dropping the price of a new PS4 console by R500.

As part of its 10 day PlayStation 4 Christmas Campaign that will run from the 15th December 2015, until the close of trading on the 24th December 2015, a R500 discount will be applied to both the PlayStation 4 500GB and the PlayStation 4 Ultimate Player 1TB Edition.

“Players can take advantage of this deal and grab the best next generation console, the PlayStation 4 Ultimate Player 1TB Edition for a limited period only, from R5999,99 – providing gamers with even more room to store games, DLC, apps and more,” Sony SA said in a statement.

It should be pointed out that the price reduction is only available at Makro, Dion Wired, Game, Incredible Connection, Musica, BT Games, C.N.A, TakeAlot, Toy Zone, Toys R Us, Game4U, House & Home and Pick ‘n Pay.
