The final Steam sale of the year is a cracker

The final Steam sale of the year, The Steam Winter Sale, went live yesterday evening and will run until 4th January 2016.

As always the specials are mind-bogglingly good and those that have remained patient throughout the year are being rewarded with specials such as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for R394.63.

This year’s game of the year for most people , The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is going for just  R294.50 and you can pick up the entire trilogy for R334.97. We’ve picked out some of our favourite titles on sale at the moment but there are so many you should probably check the Steam store out for yourself.

Valve has also brought back trading cards for this sale. The North Pole Noir cards are are earned when you buy a game or you explore your Discovery Queue. Exploring your Discovery Queue in Steam will net you a free trading card, you can do this three times to earn three free cards.

You  can use these trading cards cards to craft the North Pole Noir Sale Badge which you can show off on your Steam profile. For crafting the badge you also get an emoticon and a profile background. You could also just sell these cards on the community market to add some funds towards that game you really want.

There truly are some spectacular specials this year and with 9079 titles currently on sale there should be something for everybody to add to their gaming backlog.
