The Battle at Helm’s Deep recreated in Fallout 4… kinda

There’s a lot of Freedom in Fallout 4 to do almost anything you’d want, but we bet you never thought of re-enacting the The Battle at Helm’s Deep from the Lord of The Rings.

Don’t worry, someone did it for you.

This bit of cross-dimensional fiction comes to use from  Cosmic Contrarian, the same YouTube content creator that pitted the Fallout 4’s toughest enemies to a deathmatch to see who’s the best.

Now, we have to admit, if you wanted exact book or film recreation, you’ll be a bit disappointed here.  There’s no new character models, animations or sounds added to Fallout to make it look, sound and feel like Lord of the Rings.

Instead, what’s already in the game is used to get a kind of “best match” scenario. Armored defenders are replaced by Brotherhood of Steel members in power armour (which, coincidentally, are called knights), Orcs are now Super Mutants… you get the idea, and it gets the job done.

If you’ve never read the book, watched the films, or had a conversation with a person in the past hundred years, what you’ll see here is just a cool battle between videogame characters. If you do know what’s going it, it’s that much better.

Oddly enough, the creator saw it fit to include the main theme from The Witcher 3 as background music hear. Now we’re thinking about Geralt of Rivia, professional monster slayer, going after the beasts from Tolkien’s work. Man, that would be a great crossover. Now we feel like replaying The Witcher 3. And watching the Lord of the Rings films. Well, that’s our weekend sorted.
