Kyalami is next in line for fibre connectivity

Residents in the Kyalami Estates are next in line for high-speed broadband after Metrofibre was awarded a contract by the Kyalami Residents Association to implement fibre connectivity to nearly 1 100 homes.

The fibre to the home (FTTH) installer is expected to invest R13 million in the Kyalami Estates and with the number of areas the firm is expected to cover, Metrofibre could become the first name for fibre in the area. The areas are;

  • Kyalami
  • Sunninghill
  • Barbeque Downs
  • Lonehill
  • Beaulieu
  • Heathcliff
  • Blue Hills Estates
  • Glenferness
  • Paulshof (partial coverage)
  • Sandton (partial coverage)
  • Rivonia (partial coverage)

“We are delighted that the residents of Kyalami Estates and its home owners association elected to partner with us for their fibre needs”, Head of FTTH Business Development at Metrofibre Networx, Jacques de Villiers, said in a statement.

The contract to install fibre in the area is yet another instance where a residents association has pushed the rollout of fibre connectivity forward. The Parkview residents association did something similar back in 2014.

What good is a fibre line with no data?

Metrofibre has partnered with service provider, RocketNet to bring the internet to users over the new fibre lines and the prices are pretty tempting.

Package Download/Upload rate Data limit Shaping Once-off connection fee Price (Monthly)
