How many of these films can you identify from their terrible Netflix blurbs?

If you’re one of the many folk who have signed up for Netflix now that it’s arrived in South Africa, you may have noticed something strange about the service.

Hover your cursor over a movie and a little description of the film pops up. Have a glance at it and there’s a very good chance it’ll read like something that was banged out by a semi-literate work experience temp. Or a prankster. Or a rather lousy algorithm written by a coder on mescaline.

For example, the blurb for Man Of Steel reads thus: “A hero from the stars has a huge challenge. Saving all of humanity? Nope. Keeping his superpowers a secret.”

Whatever your feelings about Man Of Steel or the films of Zack Snyder in general, the above blurb hardly does justice to the film – in fact, it wouldn’t even seem to many to describe the film at all.

We have no idea why Netflix blurbs are this bad, but we’ve had fun round the office reading them out and seeing if our colleagues can identify what films they described.

With that in mind, we present the Netflix Blurb quiz. How many of the following can you identify by their lousy descriptions?
