One tablet and two notebooks from Lenovo promise to keep you going on the move

Lenovo has announced two convertibles and one 2-in-1 devices aimed at those who prefer coffee shops to office desks.

First up to bat are two new YOGA convertibles. According to Lenovo, the YOGA 710 and 510 have been designed to suit “travellers and mobile workers who are productive on the road”. Lenovo has chosen Windows 10 as its operating system for these new PCs.

Both the YOGA 710 and 510 will boast 6th Generation Intel Core i7 processor on the higher end models while the smaller 710 will house an Intel Core m5 processor.

The top of the range 15inch YOGA 510 will also have the option of AMD Radeon R7 M460 graphics with 2GB of memory while the 14inch model will house an AMD Radeon R5 M430 2GB GPU.

As for the YOGA 710, it will use integrated Intel graphics and there is an option for NVIDIA GeForce graphics though Lenovo hasn’t revealed exactly which GPU they will be using.

According to the firm, a new hinge antenna will improve Wifi connectivity in the new YOGA convertibles by as much as 20%. This makes sense given Lenovo is aiming this PC at those that are constantly running about town, who will surely welcome better Wifi connectivity.

Lenovo PC Business Group Senior Vice President, Johnson Jia said in a statement, “we’ve infused the YOGA 710 and 5101 convertible laptops and ideapad MIIX 310 detachable tablet with the features needed to meet the most mobile users’ demands for productivity, entertainment and design by giving you PC productivity.”

Finally, Lenovo also revealed its 2-in-1, detachable tablet, the ideapad MIIX3110. The tablet ships with a detachable keyboard and weighs approximately 580g, which is not all that bad for a 10inch slate.

Inside the 310 is 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of low power DDR3 memory. The low power is key here because Lenovo claims that the 310 will last 10 hours before needing a charge.

Unfortunately pricing and availabilty for the YOGA 710 and 510 are yet to be revealed. We do know that the MIIX 310 will start at R5 900 when it goes on sale in June.
