iPhone SE rumoured to make appearance on 21 March

Apple might be bucking its established pattern on iPhone releases a bit this year – they usually appear around September or October – as there’s a strong rumour there’s a smaller iPhone model slated for release around 21st March.

In terms of release, “unveiling” and “releasing” is pretty much the same thing for Apple. Cupertino has a habit of making a huge announcement on stage, showing off a new product’s features, and then ending off with a “…and it’s available from today.”

It was first rumoured late last week that Apple might be holding an event on 15th March, but whether the date was wrong or Apple moved it to one day before its hearing with the FBI about security is unclear.

As for the smaller iPhone, it is rumoured to be called iPhone SE.

“Approximately the same size as the iPhone 5s, this smaller iPhone SE will feature a 4-inch display and a faster chip. Also on board: Support for Apple Pay, the company’s mobile payment service. A selection of new Apple Watch bands is also expected. 9to5Mac was first to report on the iPhone SE and the iPad Pro,” Buzzfeed wrote.
