The latest patch for Hearthstone, version 4.2.0, is been rolled out to tavern goers everywhere and Blizzard has given us some sort of idea as to when we can expect C’Thun and its buddies to destroy the meta.

The date Blizzard has given us is “before May 31 2016” which means that we may have to wait three months before we get some new cards. Of course Blizzard could just come out and release the cards anytime before that.

While we wait for the cultists, Old Gods and all other manner of beast to claw their way out of the abyss there are a few new tools to keep us occupied in Hearthstone.

From today players will notice there are now nine additional deck slots. New players will have to unlock all nine Hearthstone Heroes to access the new slots but if that is a distant memory for you, you can start building new decks or editing the basic decks right away.

The Deck Recipes feature also gets rolled out with the patch as does a “smarter” Suggest a Card feature. You can also search for specific terms about cards such as Mana cost or even Golden.

New hats

A new hero portrait has been announced as well. Liadrin will be an alternative face for the Paladin class and will be obtained when players reach level 20 in World of Warcraft.

Three new card backs have been added as well. For those that have pre-purchased Overwatch a special card back will be yours. Reaching Rank 20 in Ranked Play mode during March will net you a Hogger card back and the final card back is the Eyes of C’Thun.

This card back can only be obtained by those that pre-order 50 Whispers of the Old Gods packs for €40.99 (R733,38) before the expansion rolls out.

Now Blizzard, if you could roll out Standard and Wild mode as soon as possible we would be eternally grateful to both you, and the Old Gods.
