Pornhub has announced that it will be adding support for the Samsung Gear VR and Oculus VR headsets.

Yes, that’s right, while gaming has been leading the charge to bring VR to the mainstream, porn is following closely behind it, though we suppose the adult industry doesn’t want to be as mainstream as Elite: Dangerous.

The website announced that it will partner with BaDoinkVR in terribly acted infomercial. BaDoink VR has its own stable of VR-ready adult content, and plans to bring a new Virtual Reality sub-section to the website with Pornhug.

Pornhub says that the type of content they will be distributing will support Samsung’s Gear VR, the Oculus Rift and the humble Google Cardboard.

To spur along the uptake of the medium, the site will be giving away 10 000 VR viewers though we aren’t sure how to go about entering this and we’d rather avoid being questioned about why we’re on Pornhub at work.

It really was just a matter of time before this happened. Pornhub is the 66th most visited website across all countries, it receives 60 million visitors a day according to Alexa ratings, and the global porn industry in January last year was estimated to be worth $97 billion.

“Virtual reality is the next phase in the constantly metamorphosing world of adult entertainment,” Vice President of Pornhub, Corey Price said in a statement, “and will provide users with a mesmeric experience unlike anything they’ve seen before.”

So our only question is, will you be watching porn in VR? Tell us in the comments below. *wink*
