Did Anonymous just google “Donald Trump personal details”?

Earlier this week, hacktivism collective Anonymous declared war on Republican candidate for the US Presidency Donald Trump, releasing personal details about him at the same time.

And now, another video has surfaced, supposedly from the Anonymous camp as well. Unlike the initial video, which bore the #OpTrump hastag, this video uses the term #OpWhiteRose, and claims that the group has published further personal details about Trump on text storing and sharing site, Pastebin.

“Trump’s social security number, cell phone number, and other details that might be able to assist you all in independently investigating this would-be dictator. These are provided for informational purposes only,” says the group.

But is that really a big deal?

According to a report by Tech Insider, Donald Trump’s social security number was leaked in November 2015 by HydraHacking Team and the cellphone number listed by Anonymous was published by Gawker last year.

In fact, the entire cache of information is widely available online, a few keystrokes away from anybody with access to Google. What Anonymous “released” wasn’t exactly new information.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that you should actively seek it out, or indeed use it.

Part of the video sets out why Anonymous is even bothering with Trump: “Donald Trump has set his ambitions on the White House in order to promote an agenda of fascism and xenophobia,” says the group.

The video then goes on to list – as the previous video did – a number of statements Trump has made which caught the attention of the world, including Trump’s thoughts on targeting the innocent families of terrorists.

Anonymous has also promised to launch a distributed denial of service attack on websites owned by Trump on the 1st of April.
