The Hearthstone Tavern is filling up, with Blizzard revealing 11 new cards for the Whispers of the Old Gods expansion, due out later this year.

Joining C’Thun and N’Zoth in the latest Legendary camp is Y’Shaarj, Rage Unbound. The card is a 10 mana drop with 10/10 stats with the ability: “At the end of your turn, put a minion from your deck into the battlefield”.

Yshaarj

While there are many cards that have a similar effect to this they are usually locked within a certain class, not to mention, Y’Shaarj is a huge body to have to contend with especially when it’s summoning minions onto the field.

Also joining the ranks is the Mark of Y’Shaarj a two mana-cost spell card which reads, “Give a minion +2/+2. If It’s a Beast, draw a card.

There is also a new dragon card, the Scaled Nightmare costs six mana to bring out and will double its two attack stat at the start of every turn, oh and it has eight HP.

Anybody playing a Mage deck at the moment will be positively giddy at the news of Cabalist’s Tome. For five mana players will “Add 3 random Mage spells to your hand” which is amazing for anybody playing a Mage deck with a Mana Wyrm and a Flamewalker.

Another card which seems ridiculously over-powered is Cult Apothecary. Though it is a five mana-cost card with 4/4 stats, its battlecry would do well against zoo decks.

The ability, “for each enemy minion, restore 2 health to your hero”, could serve players well if they are facing a full enemy board and lethal damage.

As we’ve mentioned there are 11 new cards to check out and the Hearthstone sub-reddit has a great table being updated daily with the newest cards as they are revealed.

The Whispers of the Old Gods is set to be fully released sometime before May 31st and pre-ordering 50 packs for €44.99 (R753.66) will net you a Whispers of the Old Gods card back.

Remember, logging in during the release of the expansion will net you three free packs and opening your first pack will get you a C’Thun and two cultists.
