DOOM is getting an open beta, running from April 15th to 17th

For a lucky few the newest iteration of DOOM has been playable, albeit multiplayer only, in a closed beta. Now the general public is getting access to an open beta this April 15th through 17th.

The FPS goodness will be available for on PC, PlayStation and Xbox and the modes will include Team Deathmatch and Warpath playable on the Heatwave and Infernal Maps.

Once DOOM is released on May 13th, there’s also going to be free updates for the multiplayer. Aside from that, there’s DLC you can pay for.

The first piece of DLC includes three new maps, new hack modules and customisation options, and one new weapon, armour set, and equipment piece. The overseas pricing sits at $14.99 (R228) with no local pricing available yet. if you want one of those damned season passes, that will cost $39.99 (R610).

We’re definitely going to be in that open beta the second it comes out, we hope to see you there too. Partly because we like playing games with you guys, but mostly because we have a shiny shotgun that needs to be used as soon as possible and, hey, the more the merrier.
