Destiny’s April update: All you need to know

Bungie’s $500m gamble is getting one of its biggest updates so far: the April update for Destiny’s The Taken King rolls out today.

Whether you still play Destiny or not, it is still worth checking out what the team has added. We have to say, we are very tempted to take another trip down the Destiny road.

In a brand new video released by Bungie, the studio tries to sum up what has been added as best as it can, and gives more information on the new missions, increases in Light level and the sweet new Chroma armour as well as Taken King armour sets.

“Aside from giving you new things to do and new things to earn, the April Update will change the way you fight. Special and Heavy Ammunition will appear on the battlefield less frequently, and (in some cases) you may be carrying less of it. Reviving your teammates will require some more strategic decision-making on your part. Weapons have gone back to the workbench,” Bungie explained.

Probably the biggest update (aside from new armour sets) is the fact that the Light level has now been increased to 335. Those wanting a tougher challenge can now take on the Taken in a Level 41 version of Prison of Elders, and you can play in a brand new mode, Challenge of the Elders, featuring scoring, weekly boss battles, gameplay twists, and rewards.

Destiny has kind of lost its way a bit over the last couple of months, with many gamers flocking to more recent titles.

We are hoping that the April update will revive Destiny, and that it hasn’t taken a too big a knock from The Division eating its lunch and stealing its players.
