You can now watch Captain America: Civil War in IMAX at Mall of Africa

Have you been holding out to see Captain American: Civil War until this weekend? Well, you might want to change your plans, as the IMAX in Mall of Africa is open for business.

The mall is the largest single phase shopping mall to be built in Africa, and naturally it needs an equally big cinema to screen one of the biggest films of the year.

Good luck on getting in though, as the opening of the mall yesterday saw almost 100 000 people through the doors, as they jostled for a variety of sales – which were pretty hard to beat (trust us, we tried).

With that, the opening of Mall of Africa’s IMAX cinema is the seventh of its kind for distribution company Ster Kinekor, who oversees IMAX in South Africa.

Bookings for Captain American: Civil War in IMAX is now open at the mall, with four screenings happening five times a day. Other films slated to be screened on IMAX include the hugely-anticipated Warcraft adaptation, X-Men Apocalypse, and Alice Through the Looking Glass.

As for Captain America: Civil War? Clinton took one for the team and went to go see it earlier this week.

In his review, he said: “Strap in for the ride and it will not disappoint you. Captain America: Civil War is not a better cape versus cape movie than Batman V Superman. What it is, is an extremely enjoyable romp in Marvel’s backyard (and will clean out the bad taste in your mouth left by Age of Ultron).”

Just in case you need a bit more motivation to go and see it, Clinton lists Spider-Man as one of the movie’s best assets.

“The highlight of the supporting cast is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. We won’t spoil his performance, but we have to say that this is the Spider-Man we’ve all been dying to see.”
