Windows 10 demo portal really wants you to try the new OS

Windows 10 is proving to be a very successful operating system indeed, with the latest estimates pinning the number of active Windows 10 users at the 270 million mark. But that doesn’t mean Microsoft isn’t still pushing hard to win over the unconverted.

That’s where this brand-new Windows 10 demo comes in. It’s an interactive section of Microsoft’s official website that shows off many of Windows 10’s best features with a series of videos. All you have to do is click on the feature category that interests you, the task you want to see illustrated and the site springs into action.

Things like “How to create multiple desktops”, “Organize (sic) my photos automatically” and other common tasks are illustrated exactly as they would be performed on a live Windows 10 system for the viewer’s convenience.

Happily, the demo doesn’t force you to endure awkward videos narrated by a bunch of goofy Microsoft employees.

The idea is very clever, as it covers every single Windows hardware platform, and choosing what you’re interested in is as straightforward as possible without Microsoft actually clicking your mouse for you.

We’re sure it’ll score the company a few new upgrades from people who are still clinging to Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and Vista as the videos clearly demonstrate just how slick Windows 10’s oft-used functions really are, and provides a novel way to show off the OS without requiring interested parties to install anything.

Want to give it a go, Mac and Linux users? If so, head over to the Window 10 demo and fire up the page.
