Battlefield 4’s “Dragon’s Teeth” now free, other expansions to follow

With a new Battlefield to be announced in two days, Battlefield 4 is sure to lose relevance quickly. Maybe realising this, developer EA DICE has made the game’s Dragon’s Teeth expansion free, with a promise that the game’s other expansions will also be given away in the coming months.

Dragon’s Teeth adds four infantry-focused multiplayer maps to the game’s multiplayer options, giving keen players even more beautifully-presented and destructible locations on which to murder one another with high-tech military weaponry.

If you want to take advantage of this offer, you’ll need to own Battlefield 4 on any platform. Go to your relevant online store, track down the Dragon’s Teeth expansion, and it should be free to download.

Sadly, this is not a permanent setup. The offer will only last for a week, from 3rd May to 10th May. If you download inside of that period, however, you will own it forever. Still, it’s strange that DICE wouldn’t leave it free, as doing so may increase the longevity of the game even further.

There’s no date for the release of those other expansions as yet, but keep checking back at the official Battlefield site for updates or keep an eye on those online stores.

If you don’t have a copy of Battlefield 4 yet and you want to pick one up now, it (and other titles from the franchise) are currently on sale on Origin. If you’re still undecided, read our review to see if it’s worth your time and money, free expansions or not.
