Standard Bank services will be offline this weekend

Standard Bank has issued a notice to its all customers about a scheduled system downtime that will kick in early on Sunday morning.

From 2am on Sunday morning, 12th June until midnight, Standard Bank’s banking app, business online, internet, telephone and cellphone banking services will be unavailable.

You’ll also not be able to deposit money at ATMs or use the WeChat relationship banking platform.

Normal ATM withdrawals, debit and credit card purchases, SnapScan, MasterPassTM and Travel Wallet Cards will be operating as usual.

“While Standard Bank recognises the impact of service disruptions on customers, the downtime is necessary to make the system changes,” the bank said in a statement.

To avoid any inconvenience, Standard Bank has advised that customers make payments or do banking transactions via the banking app, business online, internet, telephone and cellphone banking before Sunday, transfer any required money to relevant accounts in advance and top up airtime and electricity before the weekend to avoid any shortfall.

“Although customers will still be able to swipe their debit, cheque or credit cards to make in-store purchases, it is worthwhile to consider having cash on hand,” Standard Bank said.
